Names and privacy

How driver names display across the site, Discord and community pages, the EU/EEA default, and how to change or remove yours.

All guides

irstats displays iRacing's official session results. How your name appears depends on where you are from and on choices you can make yourself. One set of rules applies everywhere: the site, league sites, community leaderboards, Wrapped pages, share cards and every Discord post.

The default

  • Drivers from outside the EU/EEA and UK appear with their full racing name, as they do in the sim.
  • Drivers from the EU/EEA and UK appear abbreviated (first name plus initial) on public surfaces, unless they choose otherwise. This is based on the driver's own country, never the viewer's.

Public versus members' spaces

Public surfaces (pages a search engine could index, public Discord posts, community leaderboards) use the rules above. Signed-in members viewing each other, and league Discord servers viewing their own members' league results, see full names, the same way you see each other in the sim. A takedown always overrides both.

Choosing for yourself

Sign in with iRacing and open your account page. EU/EEA and UK drivers choose between a protected profile (abbreviated on public surfaces, the default) and a public one (full name everywhere). First-time EU/EEA sign-ins are asked once, up front. You can change the choice whenever you like and it applies immediately.

Removal requests

If you want your data suppressed entirely, use the contact page. Suppression always wins: it overrides every display rule above on every surface, including Discord posts and community pages.

What the Discord bot knows

/track uses iRacing's own sign-in on iracing.com: the bot never receives your iRacing password, only the verified account identity. /untrack stops your results posting in that server immediately, and removing the bot from a server deletes its tracking list.
