Setting up Discord for your league

Linking your server, choosing the announcements channel, and what the bot posts for leagues.

All guides

Every league plan includes the Discord bot. Linked to your server, it announces each race with winners, points and standings movement, and answers league questions in-channel. This page is the league-side setup; the bot guide covers every command, and servers without a league can use the bot too (that is the /track flow).

Linking your server

  1. Open Manage → Discord and choose the install button. You need to be a league admin here, and to have the Manage Server permission in the Discord server you are linking.
  2. Discord shows its consent screen; pick your server. The bot joins and the server appears under Linked servers in Manage.
  3. In your Discord server, type /setup channel #your-channel to choose where race announcements post. Until a channel is set, the bot stays quiet.

A league can link more than one server (a main server and a staff server, for example); each picks its own announcements channel. A Discord server can only be linked to one league at a time.

What gets posted

Within the hour of your race being scored:

  • The race announcement: winners by class, the points impact, and the standings picture after the round, with a standings card image and deep links to the full result on your site.
  • A results thread: the full finishing order posts into a thread under the announcement, keeping the channel tidy. (Installs made before thread permissions existed just skip the thread.)

One post per event, ever: re-fetches and re-scores never double-post.

League commands

Members can ask the bot directly in your server:

  • /standings (optionally by championship or class)
  • /lastrace: the most recent counting race and its standings impact
  • /nextrace and /schedule: where and when you race
  • /points driver:<name>: one driver's week-by-week points
  • /champions and /records: the honor roll and all-time records

These commands need the league link and an active plan. The general stats commands (/driver, /compare, /wrapped, /thisweek, /series, /pulse) and member tracking (/track, community pages) work in any server, league or not.

Mentioning members

Members who link their Discord account on their irstats account page can be mentioned by announcements instead of shown as plain text. Linking is a one-click Discord sign-in and always optional.

Unlinking and removal

Unlink a server from Manage → Discord at any time; announcements stop immediately. Removing the bot from the Discord server stops everything at once.
